EVALUATION ON LINUX ENVIRONMENT

( 20th September 2019 )

We evaluated two scenarios. One is original Pooler CPU Miner and another is modified version of Pooler CPU Miner for DTS L3 cache. Its system configuration is shown in Table 3-1. The original hash rate result is stable on each hash cycle which is around 7,401.05 KH/s. Modified version achieved 39,339.87 KH/s. The performance of hash rate increases 531.54 % at the average of 100 times result. But the potential of L3 cache is 1634.91%.

Optimization Techniques of Mining Process for GPUs

GPU’s BIOS Level Optimization (For AMD GPUs Only)

In this optimization technique, following mentioned setting is being modified in only AMD GPUs BIOS:

Ø Memory Straps (i.e. Timings)

Memory straps, also known as “Memory Shift” or “Memory Timings”, modification is

the most basic one to gain more performance/mining speed with most miners. The memory straps versions do have modified memory timings to increase memory transfer rates at lower latencies. The modification of memory straps in AMD GPU BIOS is based on the types of memories installed in a respective GPU. Every different type of memory will be modified with different memory straps. Following are the types of memories which are usually installed in an AMD GPU:

1. Samsung Memory

2. Micron Memory

3. Elpida Memory

4. Hynix Me
