Two Standard Ontology Definitions (From the Internet)
An Ontology defines entities and the relationship between these entities
Definition 1:
“Ontologies provide a shared understanding of a domain.”
Definition 2:
“An ontology is an explicit and formal specification of a conceptualization.” (Gruber 1993)
